In and around Switzerland.
"floating hangouts" with Thomas Horvath in Zurich. And a couple of kite festivals in and around Switzerland. You can test zero wind kites, hopefully without wind.
Due to Covid-19 everything is volatile.

34e Rencontres internationales cerfs-volants Berck-sur-MerThe huge kite festival at the Atlantic, unfortunately there's always blowing a strong wind, so nothing for me personnally. But the brut promenade wall and the hotel monoliths are appealing a lot.

40 years Cervia: Artevento CerviaThe 40th International Kite Festival on the beach of the Adriatic near Rimini. For many years the artist Claudio Capelli and his daughter Caterina have been organizing this beautiful, cosy meeting, including La Notte dei Miracoli. 40° Festival Internazionale dell'Aquilone.

Hangouts in Zurich:
One or 2 floating hangouts in Zurich with Thomas Horvath. Eventually one of them in front of the Museum für Gestaltung, Toni-Areal.

Hangout Whit Monday, June 1, 2020:
Zero wind kites on the Zurich Stadium Wasteland, the "Stadionbrache", for those who stayed at home in Zurich. The clever alternative to the return traffic jam on Gotthard. Whit Monday has tradition, there are rather few, but interesting people.
36th International Kite Fliers Meeting FanøKite meeting on Fanø DK. Various interesting workshops, partly with historical kites. Endless flat beaches and kites from all over the world. There are also moments without wind and the traditional kite auction.

Hangouts Stadionbrache Zurich
Drachenfest HüttenOn the gently undulating grass runway of the glider airfield in Schwarzwald. A beautiful place. Alternating with the Donaueschingen Kite Festival, which is expected to be again in 2021.
Kite Festival SchöfflisdorfDrachenfest Schöfflisdorf. This year not in May, as traditionally. By S-Bahn from Hardbrücke 20 minutes from Zurich. The 28th Kite Festival of the Drachenclub Wehntal. The atmosphere is always very pleasant and Horvath almost always visits the event on Sunday.

Basel Kite FestivalAn urban meeting in the Park im Grünen, formerly called Park Green-80, afternoon. If you show up early, then there might still be parking spaces, but public transport is definitely the relaxed option. Organized by Dani Wieland, play4you, 11 am – 5 pm.

Kite Festival FislisbachNear Baden, Aargau Switzerland. Drachenplausch.ch traditionally organizes the last kite festival of the year. Christoph Gehrig moderates, including possibly the rare flights of the Stefan Furter. Unfortunately it's often wet and cold. But mostly, finally, normal time again, "winter time".

Workshops: Kite making with Thomas Horvath
And: Order kites as christmas presents at horvath.ch early, especially in the European Union. The postal services and the customs are usually a bit slower just before Christmas.

Klausfliegen, Sunday December 6, 2020:The year is coming to an end, but there is still the traditional "Klausfliegen" in Brugg. As always with kites, barbecue and other fine things. The special hangout is weatherproof because under the large wooden roof. Get some advantage with thick socks, warm shoes, warm jacket, warm gloves, warm cap, etc.
Floating hangouts with Thomas Horvath
Stadium wasteland Zurich
The Hardturm Stadium was demolished. The grandstand foundations made of charming concrete are framing the now asphalted playing surface and are perfect for hanging around. The spacious place for urban floating.
The whole area will be built over some day, so we hang out a few times again on the stadium wasteland in 2020.
Tram 4 directly from Zurich Main Station. When the sun is shining there is only little shade, so you might want to have some sun protection with you. You are welcome too without a kite, we have usually some with us.

Klausfliegen Brugg
The "Klausfliegen" as always with kites, barbecue and other delicious things. It's weatherproof because place 2 is under the wooden roof.
Public transport: From Brugg SBB station, take your bike with you, a bus stop is quite far from the spot. Or take a taxi. By car from Zurich: Exit 19, Brugg Windisch, Schachen Zeughaus. The island is about 1 km long.
