The raw weight of the uncoated polyester-ripstop-fabric would be quite a bit less, but the coating stabilizes the fabric especially along the bias. The result is a film-like material, stable and true to size.\r\n\r\nWarp runs almost straight, weft not always. Nevertheless, icarex is a fabric of high precision.\r\n\r\nThe textile fabric, also called sail cloth, is translucent and can appear in different optical aggregate states, simplified three:\r\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square;\">\r\n \t<li>On the roll or in several layers the saturation is very high, the colors appear bold.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A built up kite in the studio shows a medium saturation and appears brighter.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>If you hold it against the window, the brightness increases more, while the color saturation decreases.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nWhen floating in the sky, the weather, as usual, plays its role: diffuse or hard light, plus the color temperature depending on the time of day. The angle of the sail to the observer also affects brightness and saturation: the flatter, the more saturated the colors will be. These effects are stronger for cameras than our eyes.\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"triple\" \/>\r\n\r\n<section class=\"pano\">\r\n<h2>The colors of our kites in icarex<\/h2>\r\n<p class=\"product-summary\">These icarex colors here are usually in stock for the production of kites. 31 white and 32 silver are faster in production and often cost a bit less. Amazing, how many years such a kite can fly in the sun without aging.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"double\" \/>\r\n\r\n<h2>Kites in rare colors, on request<\/h2>\r\n<p class=\"product-summary\">These Icarex colors used to be rarities and they are no longer available. They were not only hard to find, but also beautiful. Every sail is cut out of a single, folded piece of icarex. Except for <a href=\"https:\/\/horvath.ch\/kite\/the-urban-ninja\/\">The urban ninja<\/a> with its three panels. Or 4, if it's a delightful unique duotone collector's item.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"double\" \/>\r\n\r\n<h2>Dyneema composite fabric and the Hyperlights<\/h2>\r\n<p class=\"y\">Besides icarex pc31 we also use Dyneema Composite Fabric on our kites. Contrary to the name, it's not a textile fabric or cloth, but a laminate. Between two Mylar films, raw Dyneema fibres are crosswise, orthogonally baked.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"y\">The lighter, almost transparent version with about 11.5 g\/m<sup>2<\/sup> is used at the <a href=\"https:\/\/horvath.ch\/kite\/ill-be-back\/\">I'll be back urban flow edition<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/horvath.ch\/kite\/cest-la-vie-darling\/\">C'est la vie, darling<\/a>, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/horvath.ch\/kite\/leaving-rome\/\">leaving rome<\/a>. The slightly heavier variant of Dyneema in translucent white, green, blue or silver on the <a href=\"https:\/\/horvath.ch\/hyperlight-kites\/\">Hyperlights<\/a> and the urban rhythm edition of the IBB. This laminate weighs around 17.5 g\/m<sup>2<\/sup> and is available also in other colors from time to time, e.g. a dimmed honey hue.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Icarex pc31 is a very light, dimensionally stable polycarbonate-coated polyester-fabric for sails of equally light kites. <\/p>\n<p>The number of available colors gets smaller from time to time.
